Abstract:The diverse cultures have interwoven and merged in Hu’nan and Jiangxi region, forming a splendid multicultural zone. Since ancient times, there has been a wonderful educational atmosphere in this area. This paper studies the school rites system and ritual space of folk academies in Hu’nan and Jiangxi region. In the ritual activities of the academy, the communication elements play an active role. Groups and individuals participating in ritual activities use language, etiquette and other symbols to express their own ideas, beliefs, emotions and thoughts, thus achieving an identity and order. By studying the ritual learning system of folk academies, the paper pays attention to the media effect of ritual activities, establishes the “ritual view” of communication, and explores the correlation between the ritual space of folk academies and the ritual learning system of academies, in order to provide useful reference for the research and protection of the material and intangible cultural heritage of folk academies.
