Abstract:Learning Commons is a new type of learning space that emerges in the process of academic library space reconstruction. It is a place for teachers and students to learn, communicate and collaborate, and is a material carrier for knowledge creation. This paper studies Learning Commons, elaborates the internal relationship and mechanism of knowledge creation and Learning Commons, and explores the deep-rooted reasons for the spatial transformation of academic libraries. The paper uses the four spatial models needed for knowledge creation, and studies and evaluates the Learning Centers of three academic libraries. It is found that these Learning Centers are more comprehensive in the spatial processing of the environmental requirements required for knowledge creation. Finally, the paper analyzes the latest development trend of Learning Commons, and summarizes that the development direction of university Learning Commons space design and practice in the future is centered on learners, spatial diversification, comfort, flexibility, sustainable development and technological enhancement.
