Abstract：SD method is an important research method in Architectural Programming and Post Occupancy Evaluation. It has been widely used since it was introduced from Japan at the end of the 20th century. In the past decade, SD method has developed combining with new technology such as VR and machine learning. With the papers of Architectural Institute of Japan, this paper reviews the examples of Informationized research and application using the SD method in the city and building space in the past decade, and analyzes the development trend of SD method combined with information technology in Japan, especially in the researched space scale, method steps and technology update. Combined with the current status of domestic SD method application, it summarizes the development direction of SD method in the background of whole process engineering consulting.
