Abstract：In the context of sustainable urban renewal, the optimization of pedestrian space system requires a sound urban design guidance system. Mobility and place are the two core goals of pedestrian space system guidance in urban central areas, and space and interface characteristics have a multi-faceted influence on flow efficiency and place potential. Focusing on the two core issues of mobility and place, from the overall structure level, the formal order level and the function and quality level, the UD Guidelines for Downtown Core Planning Area of Singapore has made allround and refined constraints and guidance on the pedestrian space system. The management and control concepts contained in the Guidelines such as the organic integration of multiple elements, the typed guidance and control of interfaces, and the transfer and sharing of space could provide inspiration for urban renewal in China.
