Abstract:In the arctic environment, arctic researchers are facing with many severe challenges, such as physical, psychological and social challenges. In the past, the architectural space design of the scientific research station ignored the impact of environmental pressure and stimulation on the psychology of the scientific research team members, which led to the scientific research team members to bear and experience environmental stress syndrome in different degrees. Based on the theory of environmental adaptation, this paper explores how to optimize the spatial organization and environmental design of the scientific research station to help the scientific research team adapt to the polar environment as soon as possible. By using the methods of in-depth interview and case analysis, this paper analyzes the psychological state and behavior characteristics of the arctic scientific research team members, puts forward the space design elements that affect the environmental adaptation of the scientific research team members, and puts forward the space organization optimization strategy whilst taking into account the needs of the scientific research team members, so as to provide help for the construction, planning and design of the arctic scientific research station in the future.
