Abstract：Aiming at the common reliability problems in the oral history works of architecture and urban planning, based on the dialectical understanding of the reliability characteristics of various historical materials, this paper analyzes the causes of reliability problems from three aspects: some inherent characteristics of human memory, the organization of oral history work, and the sorting and processing of oral records. It discusses the reasons for the reliability problem, proposes countermeasures for the research of architecture and urban planning history from the perspective of mutual verification of various historical materials, and puts forward a number of suggestions for the oral history of architecture and urban planning.
