Abstract:Urban vitality and ecological functions of public spaces in central urban areas are critical to the quality of urban environment and social life. This makes a comparative study between urban public open space planning and green infrastructure planning, and proposes key principles and methods of optimizing the ecological function of public open spaces based on green infrastructure. With Nanjing central area as an example, public spaces and green infrastructure are first identified, land suitability evaluation and classification of public vitality and ecological sensitivity are then carried out, and the relationship between public spaces and green infrastructure is studied and re-evaluated. Finally, optimization strategies are proposed to provide research implications for urban public space ecological planning.
