Investigation on Comprehensive Evaluation Model Based on a Mechanism between Subjective Evaluations and Objective Physical Environmental Factors of Urban Public Spaces along the River: The Case of Harbin Summer
Abstract:Urban public spaces are an important factor that guarantee citizens’daily life through comfortable physical environments. It is therefore necessary to understand the relationships between citizen evaluations and physical environmental parameters. This study selects several representative public spaces in Harbin in summer for collecting both subjective evaluations and objective environmental data. According to the fitting analysis results, temperature, sound pressure levels and luminance values are selected as the comprehensive evaluation factors. Then, the correlation mechanism and comfort zone are extracted. Weighting factors of sub-factors are obtained by a factor analysis, which were 35.83% for temperature, 28.57% for sound pressure levels and 35.6% for luminance values. Finally, a comprehensive evaluation model is constructed, which can be applied for assessing environmental quality within urban public spaces.
