Abstract:Based on the teaching experiment of “General History of Architecture” course, this paper explores the possibility of a pedagogy that helps students understand the abstract elements of historiography through the experience of making models or drawing images. And it analyzes the concept of “time” in the narrative of architectural history, and reveals the historical consciousness behind through the perceptual forms presented by “chronology” or “periods”, then examines the complex characteristics of the linear “time model” shaped by the concept of “modernity”.
