Exploring the Activation and Reuse of Industrial Infrastructure Heritage Site Based on Perceived Value and Characteristic: The Reuse and Renovation of the Xi’an Wastewater Treatment Plant
Abstract：Infrastructure receives less attention despite its importance in the sphere of industrial heritage preservation and reuse. Strategies for exhibiting and preserving this form of heritage, often located underground, require different techniques to be employed. This article looks at the research on the reuse of Xi’an Wastewater Treatment Plant, and through understanding its value and characteristic proposes design strategies and measures of activation and reuse of the industrial heritage area from three aspects of inheriting historical structure, embedding modern function and revealing facilities nature.
