Abstract:Together with the rapid increase of sports and performance events, amount of large-scale multi-purpose arenas which can hold both functions have been increasing fast for the last decade. Although most of their spatial composition follows the traditional arena, functional configuration, layout and organization have to fulfill the demand of business operation. This study focuses on the design of spectators’ space, competitive/performance space, service space and event organization space, and puts forward the categorization, high efficiency, diversification and multi-location design strategy, based on the analysis of design means through field investigation and data analysis.
