Abstract：Because of the status of the concept of“art-form”which is considered as the main theme of Gottfried Semper’s Style in Technical and Tectonic Arts; or Practical Aesthetics: A Handbook for Technicians, Artists, and Friends of the Arts, this paper makes deep analysis of it from different perspectives. First of all, it introduces its origin and elaborately discusses its definition for its supreme importance. Secondly, based on the discussion, it makes a comparison between Semper and Karl BÖtticher’s concepts of “art-form”, and therefore clearly reveals the intention of this concept.
