Abstract：To establish the relationship between nationality and modernity of architecture is a key subject that has been paid attention to since the 20th century. Britain as the modern native country in human history, its modernity of architecture was born from the nationality, formed architectural technology aesthetics based on rational spirit, and formed distinct architectural features in a typical historical period. That was a translation from nationality to modernity as a genealogy process, which lasted for over 300 years. The study of the balanced relationship between them will hopefully shed lights on the rethinking of Chinese architectural nationality and modernity.
