Abstract：Professor Lu Yuanding is considered to be a master of traditional Chinese vernacular architecture, and acts as a link between the proceeding and the following in the academic history. He advances the architectural theory of Han subgroups, and discusses the formation of traditional vernacular architecture. Professor Lu Yuanding puts forward the architectural safety view, architectural regional view, and architectural humanistic view. By these efforts, he makes outstanding
contribution to both the theoretical and methodological system of the vernacular architecture. It is beneficial to study Lu Yuanding’s architectural view, which would deepen the research on the academic history of traditional Chinese vernacular architecture, improve the disciplinary construction of architecture, and make responses to rural revitalization strategy. By this way, we could coordinate urban and rural construction, improve the human settlements, and demonstrate the contemporary value and international significance of Chinese traditional architectural culture.
