Abstract：The traditional residence of Li ethnic group has strong identifiable characteristics and rich cultural connotation, which is an important part of Li ethnic group culture. However, under the influence of economic development and cultural convergence, the traditional residence of Li ethnic group has been inevitably faced with practical difficulties and disappearing rapidly. This paper analyzes the current situation and problems of the existing traditional residence of the Li ethnic group through a field survey. With the formation and evolution of Li ethnic group traditional residence, it summarizes their identifiable characteristics, ecological strategies and building wisdom. The low-technology strategy is used to selectively inherit the traditional residence and its construction mechanism, and flexibly reorganize the adaptive transformation, so as to meet the needs of modern life and realize the sustainable development of Li ethnic group residence
