Abstract:Passivhaus in Germany consumes 90% less heating energy than conventional houses, reducing building energy consumption significantly and providing beneficial lessons to the development of China’ s energy-saving buildings. This article summarizes the technical feature and applicability of Passivhaus, and analyzes the design concept, design strategies and technical measures of the winning works of 2014 Passive House Award. The study shows that designing and constructing buildings in accordance with Passivehaus standard does not mean to sacrifice aesthetics. On the contrary, it could promote architectural design in terms of returning to rationality and providing clue for the innovation of form, material and technical system. It finally refers to the inspirations from Passivhaus for the practice of energy-saving buildings in China.
