Abstract:The young architect Cui Yong, who travels and lives in the Netherlands, is one of few Chinese young people who established architectural office abroad. Cui Yong and his Society Particular Architectural Office (Rotterdam) have won several international architectural design awards, and they are expanding practices in both Europe and China vigorously. The dialogue with Cui Yong presents the basic status that young architects start a business and work in the Netherlands, and discusses the topics on public space, landmark and competition mechanism through some important international design competitions, such as Helsinki Guggenheim Museum Competition which Cui Yong and his team recently participated in.
