Abstract：The existent early modern industrial heritages are few and of a low proportion in urban industrial heritages in Wuhan, which reflects the lack of cognition on the values of modern industrial heritages. The historic characteristics and meanings of industrial heritage, therefore, are not only the component elements of value-related “information source”, but also the clue of value judgment for industrial heritages. In view of this, three case studies are illustrated with different values from each distinctive historic characteristic and meaning, in order to establish the foundation of appropriate strategies for design interventions.
