Abstract:Dining space’ s sound environment depends on diners’ perception and evaluation of the interior sound environment. In this paper, the influencing factors of sound environment evaluation in dining spaces are explored by qualitative research paradigm. A total of 42 interviewers were selected following the principles of qualitative research sample, and the semi-structured in-depth interview was carried out and the general process of grounded theory has been applied for data collection. By analyzing the encoding of interviews text, the results produce 4 core codes, which are individual differences, expectation, acoustic comfort and speech intelligibility, and form a core concept in terms of influence factors of sound environment for the evaluation of dining spaces. The above results might provide reference for further quantitative research in dining spaces.
