Abstract:With the rapid integration of urban and rural economy, the unity of commercial and cultural markets, and the frequent movement of people across the region, the stability of rural culture is subjected to profound impact and influence under the strong urban culture. In this process, traditional rural characteristics are rapidly disappeared and the built environment is disorganized. This paper, based on the current situation and difficulties of rural construction, analyzes the defects in the understanding and the limitations of theories and methods in the rural construction from the perspective of architectural design, discusses the logical relationship of “environment, architecture and people” according to the essence, characteristics and actual demands of rural architecture, and attempts to establish an appropriate understanding and methodology to provide a technical support for the enrichment and improvement of modern architectural design theory.
