Abstract：Nowadays when village construction is like a raging fire, it is a somewhat difficult task as how to understand the low-cost construction and popularize it among the broad masses of peasants. Based on over 10-years practice for villages, this paper analyzes the possibility of low-cost construction for villages under different geographical characteristics from single buildings and rural public spaces to the whole villages. It demonstrates that low-cost construction requires breakthroughs at the technical level. What is more important, it needs to pay close attention to the relationships between the village and the society. The peasants should be organized once again to play their subjectivity.
