The Strategy of Integrated Promotion of Function and Performance in the Renovation of Vernacular Dwelling: The Case of the Renovation of Vernacular Dwelling in the Historical City of Yixing, Jiangsu
Abstract：Based on the study and practice in Zhoutie and Dingshu, Yixing, in recent years, this paper explains the strategy of integrated promotion of function and performance in the renovation of vernacular dwelling. It investigates on the one hand the programming, spatial design and serving-space modularizing, and on the other the improvement of thermal and luminous environment, and integration of building and equipment. Aiming to maintain historical style and spatial form, it also explores the practical approach to the renovation of vernacular dwelling along with the local construction experience in the Jiangnan Region.
