Abstract:After decades of development, cyberspace has well been integrated into the world around us to make ubiquitous ecologies. In such context, architectural design is situated in a more complex built environment and therefore facing greater challenges than before. This paper puts forward a preliminary set of suggestive design strategies to response to the changes of the time. Based on this, three important perspectives of sustainable design in ubiquitous ecologies are further discussed and recognized via the case study of three designs. The paper underlines the value of scientific and innovative nature of architectural design in this ubiquitous information era, and provides suggestions for the future development and transformation of Chinese sustainable architecture and design research.
