Abstract：Several development and construction of urban waterfront have brought many adverse effects to the ecological environment and urban structure, and led to the emergence of the “international” mode of waterfront environment. On the basis of relevant research at home and abroad, taking the built environment of waterfront area of Chongqing as an example, aiming at the problems of “insulating”, “disconnecting”, “cutting” and so on, “green” concept and “connectivity” are presented to reconstruct waterfronts, including the connectivity through natural ecology and hydrology, through urban design, and through history and culture. People, rivers and city are integrated in time and in space to achieve balance. every decision in the renovation and design process of the Chongqing waterfront is taken into full account for the environment and energy benefits, thus forming the city’s own characteristics.
