The Creative Reconstruction of Cultural Entertainment Facilities of Old Residential Areas from the Perspective of Active Ageing: A Study of the 1980s Residential Areas, Beijing
Abstract:This paper makes case studies on existing residential areas of the 1980s in Beijing, and based on the idea of “Active Ageing”, guided by the theories of “Open Building” and “Residential Regeneration”, it explores how to regenerate the cultural entertainment facilities which are not suitable for the elderly of the community through diversified functions and detailing of weakened ageing. As one of a series of studies, the paper emphasizes on architectural design. It creates a kind of compounded function and multi-level space facilities through reconstructing and WSIE system.
