Research on the Evolution of Urban Pattern in Hexi Corridor under the Influence of Border Defense Strategy and Silk Road Trade: The Case of Liangzhou City
Abstract：The Hexi Corridor is an important part of the land route of the silk road. As a bridgehead of the Hexi Corridor, Liangzhou city was once the escort for the economic development of the Silk Road, which fully demonstrated the particularity of the traditional town pattern in the border town area. Taking Liangzhou city as an example, this paper summarizes the evolution characteristics of its urban pattern under the historical development and analyzes the relationship between its urban pattern and the development of the Silk Road, so as to clarify the regional characteristics of the evolution of the urban layout in the Hexi Corridor. It then presents the research perspective through the important cultural routes for the research on the regional urban development pattern.
