Abstract:Canada is ample of wood resources, and its practice and research on wooden structure is in the leading position of the world, which is widely used in school constructions. Through the analysis of the composition of the main structural types, structural working characteristics under loading and the characteristics of hybrid wooden structure in Canadian wood structural schools, this article demonstrates that the great structure performance, the extent of assembly and the artistic impression should be the emphasis of research and application in architectural design in China. It finally summarizes the inspiration the wood structural buildings in Canada provided for the future study in China and the expectation on the advancement of wooden structure’s application in school buildings in China.
