Abstract：This paper discusses the relevance and difference between new and traditional mode of knowledge production by quoting The New Production of Knowledge: The Dynamics of Science and Research in Contemporary Societies by Robert Gibbons, et al. It stresses the demand of a new mode of knowledge production for the development of architecture from the perspective of social environment, interaction of disciplines, the feature of constructor, social accountability, and quality control. The conclusion is architects should improve their coordination capability to solve various social problems in the context of application and the architectural education should pay more attention on intercourse training.
