Abstract:In the past two decades, the tabula rasa of Chinese economic development has given way to a generation of architects seeking in tradition the motifs for constructing a new national language. This article discusses from the two simultaneous processes of change in city centers, the rural practice of architects and the development of digital construction, and points out that sooner or later, the practices in contemporary China with diversity and profundity will make China’s building industry, and even the public at large, recognize th eir own traditions in a critical and innovative way.
