Abstract:Experts from various disciplines have studied “Special Topics on Campus Planning and Building Standardization of Fundamental Education in China” for two years. The study shows that, comparing with the developed countries, the standard of educational building in some areas of China is relatively backward. Some obviously do not conform to regional characteristics, and do not match the goals of fair education. The quality of campus construction is uneven and the
polarization trend is obvious. This situation seriously hinders the balanced development of education. The experts believe that the construction standards cannot be studied only from the architectural perspective. In order to make scientific and reasonable standards of campus planning, design and construction, we need to carry out interdisciplinary and collaborative research,respect the laws of education, take learner-centered concepts, and focus on the goal of educational building servicing education. It is urgent to launch the research on the standardization of campus for fundamental education.
